Amara has been associated with public lender for almost three decades. Began his career in 1991 as a SBI probationary officer, he has held various key positions, including chief general manager of SBI’s Bhopal Circle, where he oversaw operations in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

SBI Card Managing Director and CEO Rama Mohan Rao Amara resigned with effect from August 11. Abhijit Chakravorty will replace Amara as Managing Director and CEO, with effect from the next day.
