After the first round of counting, when votes of all members of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were counted, Murmu was leading with 540 of the 748 votes polled. While Sinha got 208 votes of MPs.
As many as 538 MPs of various parties had extended their support to Murmu ahead of the election, but a few of them did not vote.
Apart from BJP president Nadda, a large number of party leaders and workers from Delhi and other parts of the country will participate in it, said a senior Delhi BJP functionary.
Counting of votes for the presidential election started here on Thursday to decide on incumbent Ram Nath Kovind's successor. The process of counting the votes started at 11 am in room number 63 in Parliament House, where the ballot boxes brought from all the state assemblies were kept.
Murmu had visited the Chinnamastika temple on several occasions during her gubernatorial stint in the state.
There is enthusiasm among the people as for the first time, someone from the state is tipped to occupy the country's topmost constitutional post.
