Nepal is set to increase its power exports to India by 251 MW, sourced from 12 hydropower projects, following India's approval for cross-border trade. This expansion raises the total allowed export capacity to 941 MW across 28 projects. The move marks Nepal's first power export to Bihar and highlights its growing role as a key hydropower exporter in South Asia.

April-February power exports of around 5,798 million units were 4% higher than what India bought from Bhutan, which has been a steady supplier of hydro-electricity to the country since the eighties.
