The union cabinet has approved the National Mission on Edible Oil with an investment of Rs 11000 crore, confirmed senior Research Analyst Varun Dubey explaining that the government aims to run this scheme till November 1, 2037.

The National Mission on Edible Oil was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. The objective of this national mission is to promote the domestic cultivation of palm oil in the next five years and reduce the country's dependence on edible oil imports.
