Dwelling on the upcoming Metro Railway networks, the Prime Minister said that in the past five years alone, projects worth Rs 150,000-crore have been initiated in Mumbai.

"The first metro in Mumbai was conceptualised in 2006. But for eight years the project was delayed and we have don't have any idea at what level it was stuck. In 2014, when we came into power we decided to not just speed up the process but also to scale up the metro network. And now we have proposed a 275-km-long metro network by 2024," Modi said, adding this will not only improve connectivity but also reduce the problem of traffic congestion in the megapolis.
