Former DGP and sitting BJP MP VD Ram was leading by 2.26 lakh votes over his nearest rival Mamta Bhuiyan of RJD in Palamu, leading to victory. In Dumka, BJP's Sita Soren, who was ahead of JMM's Nalin Soren, is now trailing by 7,893 votes in a tight contest. Sita, a three-time JMM legislator, joined the BJP just ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
