Very bad signals from global markets. Chaos in US due to fear of recession. Dow dropped 600 points, closed below 40,000. Nasdaq fell 2.5%, Russell 2000 fell 3.5%. Big jump of 25% in VIX. Japanese markets again fell by more than 5%. Nikkei enters Bear Market, down 20% from high. Fastest selloff after Covid. Pressure in other Asian markets also. Heavy selling in American futures.

The near 3 percent drop in China reflected its recent bond markets worries, adding to a subdued mood in Europe where, with trading constrained by the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, the main bourses opened in the red for the 10th day in the last 13.
