Chennai Heavy Rainfall: The weather department has predicted heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and its Karaikkal regions on November 25, followed by very heavy rainfall on November 26.

The local MeT office on Saturday warned of moderate flash flood risk in few areas in Sirmaur and Shimla districts in the next 24 hours and issued an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rains, thunderstorms and lightning at isolated areas in the state on July 23.

Katuala was the wettest in the state with 169 mm of rain followed by Pandoh with 117 mm, Sujanpura Tira 88 mm, Gohar 60 mm, Mashobra 58 mm and Dharamshala 56.4 mm, the meteorological department said.

IMD scientist Surinder Paul said, "The weather is dry and temperature is above normal. 42.3 degee cClsius was recorded at Neri in Hamirpur. After 15th June, thunderstorm activity can be reported. In the next 48 hours, monsoon will reach some pockets of Maharashtra and South Gujarat. Normally, monsoon reaches Himachal Pradesh by 20-22 June. If conditions remain good, Monsoon is expected to reach Himachal Pradesh on time."
