Net revenues for the given period also jumped 18%, at Rs 10,894.5 crore. The bank said that its total deposits rose 16.7%, at Rs 5,91,731 crore in the second quarter as against Rs 5,06,909 crore. October also saw the total deposits with the entire banking system in India cross Rs 100 lakh crore for the first time.

One of the largest private sector banks in the country, HDFC Bank, on Tuesday said that it recorded a net profit of Rs 3455.33 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2016. Analysts expected the bank to post Rs 3470 crore net profit.

The bank’s NII (net interest income) was at Rs. 7,781.44, witnessing rise of 21.79% yoy and 4.40% qoq(quarter-on-quarter).While its total income stood at RS. 19,322.63 crore, up by 17.08% yoy and 2.43% qoq.
