G20 Summit 2023: India-Middle East-Europe' economic corridor including shipping and railway links will be launched soon. The first-of-its-kind economic corridor will be a historic initiative on cooperation on connectivity and infrastructure involving India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, EU, France, Italy, Germany, and the US.
US President Joe Biden announced a new initiative to invest in economic corridors in low-and middle-income countries. The initiative is part of the Biden administration's efforts to promote sustainable infrastructure and economic development around the world.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the progress of the UK-India free trade deal and ways to strengthen their partnership. The two leaders agreed that there is a lot of potential for cooperation between the two countries and committed to working through the challenges to conclude a successful trade deal.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has highlighted that a global consensus on the regulation of cryptocurrencies is taking shape during India's G20 presidency. She emphasised that the G20 agenda has been enriched with a focus on advancing financial inclusion and achieving productivity gains through digital public infrastructure
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the country has made the G20 summit more inclusive by inviting the African Union as a permanent member. This is a historic moment for Africa and the world, as it will give the continent a greater voice in global decision-making
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that consensus has been reached on the New Delhi G20 Leaders' Summit Declaration, despite the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. The declaration addresses a range of global issues, including climate change, food security, and sustainable development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a warm welcome to the heads of delegations from more than a dozen nations, guest countries, and international organizations at the summit venue in New Delhi, marking the commencement of the 18th G20 Summit.

The iconic Taj Palace hotel in Delhi has been illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag ahead of the G20 Summit. The summit will be held in Delhi on September 9-10 and will be attended by leaders from the world's 20 largest economies.
US President Joe Biden has departed for India to attend the 18th G20 Summit. He will also hold a bilateral meeting with PM Modi during his visit. The Summit is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10 in New Delhi.
