Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) classifies flexi-cap funds as equity funds with at least 65 per cent of their investments in equity and equity-related instruments. As the name suggests, flexi cap funds provide flexibility to investors as the fund manager invests funds across market capitalisation. The manager changes the combination of stocks as per the performance of either of the three caps.
