Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was ordered to be released on interim bail till June 1 in view of the ongoing general elections in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam. The apex court had directed him to surrender back to Tihar Jail on June 2.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Arrested: The Rouse Avenue Court on Friday sent Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to ED custody till March 28. The agency had sought 10 days of remand. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) arrested Kejriwal on Thursday in connection with the alleged Delhi Liquor scam case.
Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, representing Arvind Kejriwal, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna and said the remand proceedings before the trial court later in the day would be clashing with the hearing in the top court.
Delhi Metro (DMRC), on advice of the Delhi Police, closed the ITO metro station at 8 am on Friday (March 22, 2024). The DMRC said that the station would remain closed till 6 PM today. In its traffic advisory on Friday, the Delhi Police asked commuters to avoid Motilal Nehru Marg, Krishna Menon Marg, Dr Apj Abdul Kalam Road and Janpath till further notice.
