Cyclone Mocha made landfall on May 14 afternoon in Bangladesh and Myanmar. At least five people have been reported dead in Myanmar. No casualties have been reported in Bangladesh so far. Around 500,000 people have been evacuated to safer areas.

Cyclone Mocha Intensifies Into Very Severe Cyclonic Storm, NDRF Teams In Bengal On High Alert The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued an alert that Cyclone Mocha has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm over central adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) while issuing alerts and warnings of cyclone Mocha on Monday said that a low-pressure area has formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining South Andaman Sea which is likely to intensify into a depression on May 9 over the same region and further into cyclone Mocha on May 10.
