Severe cyclonic storm Dana and the rain accompanying it are likely to have damaged standing crops in 1.75 lakh acre of land, and submerged another 2.80 lakh acre in Odisha, a senior official said on Saturday, citing preliminary estimations.

Cyclone Dana spared Odisha and West Bengal of any severe damage to infrastructure while flight and rail operations resumed on Friday after the cyclonic storm completed landfall, triggering heavy rains and uprooting of trees and electric poles.
Ahead of the anticipated landfall of the cyclone the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar had announced suspension of flight operations from 5.00 PM on October 24 to 9 am Friday.
