The stadium is inspired by Lord Shiva and will be constructed on a sprawling expanse of more than 30 acres. It will have a capacity of 30,000 spectators, which can be expanded to 40,000 in the future. The world’s largest cricket stadium is getting built in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The Sardar Patel Stadium has built at a cost of Rs 700 crore and has a seating capacity of 1,10,000. It has surpassed the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of 1,00,000 people. The Sardar Patel Stadium will open in March 2020. The exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March 2020 is likely to be the first match played in the stadium.
