The WHO has issued an alert for four cough syrups made in India and said that chemicals have been found in them, which are toxic and potentially fatal. The WHO said that it is more likely that 66 children in The Gambia have died due to drinking 4 cough syrups made in India. Cough syrup contains unacceptable amounts of Diethylene glycol and Ethylene glycol, both of which are toxic. Consumption of these can prove to be fatal.
