Government buildings are among the largest consumers of electricity in Delhi. Each year, Delhi government departments consume over 2000 million units of electricity, costing between Rs 8.50 and Rs 11.50 per unit. This results in annual electricity bills exceeding Rs1900 crore, the release stated.

In the revised budget estimates for 2024-25, the Chief Minister Atishi-led Delhi government has increased the budget outlay to Rs 77,700 crore. The actual budget estimate of Delhi is Rs 76000 crore.
