About 33 lakh cheque bounce cases are pending in different courts across the country. Most of the cases are pending in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Showing strictness on cheque bounce cases, the Supreme Court has sought answers from the Modi government, the state government and the High Court on the recommendations of forming an experts committee. In order to deal with the increasing cases of cheque bounce in the country, a committee had recommended that special courts should be set up to try such cases.
