One more cheetah has been released into the wild at the Kuno National Park (KNP) in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district, taking the count to seven, an official said on Monday.

The animals will be reintroduced on Saturday (September 17) after more than seven decades when they became extinct in India. The day marks the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will turn 72 this year. The picture tweeted by the high commission shows the front part of the Indian aircraft painted in the form of a cheetah's face.
Cheetahs in India from Namibia on PM Modi birthday: As per the earlier plan, the special plane carrying the big cats from the African country was to land at the Jaipur airport, from where they were to be flown to KNP, around 400km from the Rajasthan capital.
Once these cheetahs reach Gwalior, they will be shifted to the KNP helipad in the Indian Air Force (IAF) Chinook heavy-lift helicopter. Earlier, there were plans that these animals would land in Jaipur from the African country.
