India's lunar explorers Pragyan and Vikram are facing a chilly lunar night that could render them inactive. The lunar night on the moon is 14 times longer than on Earth, and temperatures can plummet to minus 180 degrees Celsius. Despite the challenges, ISRO is confident that Pragyan and Vikram will survive the lunar night and continue to explore the moon. The video explains how ISRO is keeping in touch with Pragyan and Vikram during the lunar night, and the challenges of lunar exploration.

India's Pragyan Rover has commenced operations on the Moon's surface, four days after the historic successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of lunar surface. The ChaSTE payload onboard Vikram Lander has measured the temperature profile of lunar topsoil around the pole, to understand the thermal behaviour of the Moon's surface. This is the first time that temperature profiling has been done around the south pole of the Moon.

Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to be launched from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on July 14. Successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 will make India the 4th country to land its Spacecraft on surface of the Moon. The mission is aimed at demonstrating India's capability in soft landing and exploring the lunar surface.
