Today there has been a huge fall in the prices of crude oil. Brent crude slipped below $72. While the Gold was trading above Rs 60,000 on MCX. Apart from this, there has been a consecutive decline in the base metals. Palm oil fell to a 9-month low. Apart from this, the latest figures of India's GDP have come today. India's GDP grew 6.1 per cent in the fourth quarter of FY23, according to official data released by the government. This is better than what the RBI and most economists had predicted.

Slight buying was seen in gold today. Gold price on MCX is trading higher at around Rs 59,600 per 10 grams, while silver rose by more than Rs 600. Talking about Agri commodity, then Jeera futures on NCDEX dropped by Rs 43,400. On the other hand, base metals rose by 1-2% on MCX. Apart from this, IMD released its second forecast. IMD predicted less than 92% rainfall in June.

Commodities Capsule: The sentiment in the commodities market this week remain subdued with base metals prices falling over sluggish economic recovery in China and exacerbated by worries over demand outlook. Copper Futures on the London Metal Exchange (LME) hovered around five-month lows with the commodity heading for its biggest weekly drop since November. Ferrous metals, iron ore, steel rebar in China extended weakness to near six-month lows. The bullion market saw drop in gold and silver futures this week. Silver is down 6 percent so far this week, correcting nearly Rs 5,000 in two trading sessions, while Gold prices squandered all its weekly gains, correcting $60 from its record high levels seen this month.
