The biggest drivers of inflation in August were food, alcohol, tobacco and services, although those prices rose at a slower annual pace than the previous month.

While consumer food price index (CFPI) - which stood at 5.91% in August 2016, from 8.35% in July 2016. Under CFPI- the rural inflation was at 6.32% from 8.18% in July 2016 and Urban inflation at 5.10% against 8.80% in July, 2016.
