Clarifying that appropriate action has been taken, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer M Umashankar Kumar issued a release saying, “An inquiry was conducted, and on the basis of it stringent action has been taken up against the Train Side Vending contractor for the section between Secunderabad and Kazipet, P Sivaprasad, with whom the identified vendor in the video was employed……A penalty of Rs 1 lakh has been levied on the licensee, through the IRCTC, the contracting agency.”

According to senior railway officials, this catering services will be started in those trains whose catering facilities are under the control of IRCTC, like Satabadi Express. Initially, the concept will be adopted on those routes where journey is of 5 to 6 hours. The services will be rolled out in the next 2-3 months. Under this catering facility, travellers will be served with high-quality foods in extreme hygienic conditions, as it is served in air flights.
