WhatsApp Proxy Servers: Meta-owned WhatsApp is known to introduce features keeping in mind the needs of users. The instant messaging platform has now introduced 'WhatsApp proxy support' or 'WhatsApp proxy server' for users. This will let people connect with friends and family even when the internet is blocked or disrupted. This will allow WhatsApp users to connect freely in all circumstances.
What are WhatsApp Proxy Servers
WhatsApp proxy servers can be set up by volunteers or organisations in case of no internet connectivity. WhatsApp users can connect to these servers and use them to communicate freely.
The announcement was made by WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart on Twitter.
“Happy New Year! While many of us celebrated by texting our loved ones on WA, there are millions of people in Iran and elsewhere who continue to be denied the right to communicate freely and privately. So today we’re making it easier for anyone to connect to WA using a proxy,” Cathcart said in a Tweet.
