We have Google Dialer in android apps and this is the cause of the entire problem. In technical terms, this problem is because of the proximity sensor in the Google Dialer. Usually, the proximity sensor should get activated on recognising any physical touch - just like it happens in our smartphones.

How to fix this?

One of the ways to overcome this problem is to hit the power button before placing the phone on your ear. Also, you can minimise the calling app.

There are some other ways in which you can fix the problem. You can use the Truecaller app instead of Google Dialer. There are several phones that offer their own calling apps and they can help fix the problem.

Alternatively, one can reset factory settings. This too can help you in fixing the issue. However, you must back up your data before doing it.

Also, users can download the Right Dailer app from the Google play store. This app has several proximity sensors and the user interface of this app is somewhat like iOS.
