Oppo F27 5G Review: Chinese tech giant Oppo has launched its latest smartphone: the Oppo F27 5G. The device has received notable upgrades, including top-class armour-grade durability and AI features set to enhance the user experience. The device looks aesthetically pleasing, with a refined design. Further, the worthiness of the smartphone is elevated by its considerably good performance. In this review, we analyse whether the hype built around the smartphone lives up to the expectations. 

Oppo F27 5G Review: When it comes to design, the device at first glance gives an impression of a perfect blend of durable hardware and seamless software. Offering a luxurious look, the device encompasses a stylish camera module reminiscent of a high-end watch. The camera module is further adorned with the phone’s Halo Light, a light ring surrounding the camera module that blinks in different patterns. Additionally, the Halo Light functions as the notification light. Weighing just 187 grams and with a thickness of 7.69mm, the Emerald Green variant feels to have received perfect weight distribution. The other available colour variant is Amber Orange. 

Oppo F27 5G Review: Sporting a 6.67-inch screen, the OPPO F27 5G runs smoothly, thanks to a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It has a peak brightness of up to 2,100nits, making it bright enough even under direct sunlight. Another remarkable functionality is the ‘Splash Touch’, which allows the device to recognise finger touches even when wet. For multimedia usage, the smartphone is a perfect device, offering HDR visuals without any stuttering. 

Oppo F27 5G Review: The OPPO F27 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which offers decent performance in this price range. The device boasts up to 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking. The device smoothly undertakes day-to-day tasks without any noticeable lag. The smartphone runs on ColorOS 14.0.1 based on Android 14. Despite being smooth, the UI is not decluttered and has plenty of bloatware. 

Oppo F27 5G Review: The device houses a capable AI Toolbox, which further eases the user experience. It can be accessed in the sidebar and suggests AI features as needed. For example, AI Writer comes into play when writing on social media, while AI summary helps when you need to read a long article’s summary. Additionally, AI speak assists users with text-to-voice or reading the contents of a page.

Oppo F27 5G Review: The OPPO F27 5G is equipped with a luxurious camera module featuring the Cosmos Ring, aesthetically enhanced by the Halo Light. The camera module includes a dual camera setup: a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera captures decent photos with natural-looking colours with a good amount of detail. However, low-light photography leaves room for improvements, with noticeable noise. The Night Mode also falls short of brilliance. The 2MP deep sensor allows the device to offer satisfactory photos, if not the best, with near-accurate depth-of-field. At the front, you get a 32MP selfie shooter, which gets the job done delivering manageable skin tones and facial details. The camera capabilities are backed by AI features integrated into the device, including AI Eraser 2.0 for removing unwanted objects from the background, the AI studio feature that turns normal photos into digital avatars, and the AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, which creates stickers by removing subjects from photos.

Oppo F27 5G Review: The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge support. It takes a little over 70 minutes to fully charge the battery, and under modest usage scenarios, the OPPO F27 5G lasts for a day. However, under extensive usage, you may need to plug in the charger a second time. 

Oppo F27 5G Review: The OPPO F27 5G presents a perfect blend of aesthetics and performance, offering a premium profile with a slim outlook. The camera module, thanks to the Halo Light and the Cosmos Ring, hits differently. In terms of performance, the device is no pushover as it meets the crucial benchmarks for sub-Rs 25,000 devices. However, the low-light photography needs improvement, and the UI could be less cluttered.
