Redmi Pad SE Review: Design
With a sturdy aluminium body, the Redmi Pad SE gives a satisfactory in-hand feel. You feel like you are holding something premium. Measuring 255.53 x 167.08 x 7.36mm, the device weighs 478 grams. The bezels around the display let you enjoy a good grip, simultaneously preventing any accidental touches while using. The tablet is available in three colour variants- Lavender Purple, Graphite Gray, and Mint Green.

While it has the AI face unlock functionality in-built, had there been a fingerprint sensor, it would have been a ‘must-have’ kind of device.
Redmi Pad SE Review: Performance and Software
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, complemented by three RAM variants: 4GB, 6GB and 8GB and an internal storage of 128GB, expandable up to 1TB, the Redmi Pad delivers brilliant performance. Allowing one to undertake a variety of activities, including watching YouTube videos, browsing the web, and using different apps, this device does not show any major technical obstacles. Even graphically intensive racing games like Asphalt 9 can be run, bolstering this device’s candidature as a viable option. It runs on MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13. The UI experience is smooth, enabling multitasking and allowing to use of multiple apps side by side.
Redmi Pad SE Review: Camera
Coming to the cameras, the Redmi Pad SE features a single 8MP rear camera, which lacks OIS support. However, it manages minor motions, avoiding blurry outputs. Under adequately lighted conditions, the rear camera gives the kind of an output expected from a tablet’s camera module. At the front, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter. It performs decently for the segment it falls in.

To summarise, though it is not the standout department of this device, it is satisfactory for general use.
Redmi Pad SE Review: Battery
The battery life of the Redmi Pad SE is excellent. The 8,000mAh battery provides ample standby time for prolonged usage sessions. If you are a moderate user, you likely won’t find the need to plug in the charger for at least a couple of days. However, there remains a prominent area of concern: it supports only 10W charging, thus taking longer to juice up the device.
Redmi Pad SE Review: Verdict
The Redmi Pad SE is a device worth considering in its price segment. The device smoothly handles apps and serves as a capable multimedia-watching device. While there is room for improvement, such as adding the fingerprint sensor, positives like an aluminium alloy body design, a decent processor, and a high refresh display make it an interesting choice.
