Titan Maestro Review: Titan, one of the largest watch manufacturers in the world, recently launched a premium range of smartwatches in India - Crown Collection. Titan Maestro is one of the smartwatches under this collection with a starting price of Rs 13,995. I used this watch for around a month and here's the full review.

There is no dearth of smartwatches these days but Maestro's design makes it stand apart from all the other brands available out there. This is a sleek, durable 3-piece stainless steel construction. Titan Maetro has a 3-piece all stainless steel construction and the one I am using has a Black + Rose Gold watch head colour with a black metal strap. There is an extra silicon straps included in the box and they are quite easy to change.

While silicon straps come with a pin-buckle system, the metal straps come with a push-button safety clasp that makes wearing and removing the smartwatch easy. At the same time, it is not prone to unintentional unclasping even during rigorous workouts in the gym.

Titan Maestro Review: Classic look

Before sharing other details, let me tell you that this smartwatch feels exactly like any other analog watch by the company with added functionality. And yes, it is a wee bit on the heavier side but it won't be an issue for those who have been traditionally wearing analog watches. The smartwatch is available in three colour variants but the one with dual-tone finish is a real head-turner. The black body with a rose gold rim makes it look sophisticated and distinct. Several colleagues couldn't resist asking about the brand name of the smartwatch.

Titan Maestro Review: Display

When I said that the smartwatch feels like an analog watch, it was not just about the design. This holds true for watch faces. It comes with several classic 3D watch faces that look quite similar to dials found in analog watches. It features a 3.6cm (1.41-inch) super AMOLED round display with 466x466 resolution housed in a 10.5mm thick case. The display is quite bright and I used it at 60 per cent (there are 5 levels - 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100) and found it to be sufficient even for outdoor usage.

The display is quite smooth and one of the best things about it is that it has no bezel - something that is very rare in smartwatches in this price range. It also has the always-on display but I feel that adding some more options in it would have been much better.

The good part of the AOD is that it comes with smart mode which automatically turns off the screen display when you are wearing it while sleeping or when the smartwatch is not on your wrist. This feature works precisely and helps save battery life. But the watch shows things like hydration reminders even when you are not wearing it. While I might be getting down to nitpicking details here, addressing this could have slightly improved the battery life.

Titan Maestro Review: Easy to use

It has an intuitive interface and customizable display settings, allowing for a truly personalised experience. The smartwatch has a dedicated customisation menu offering granular control over animation styles and transition effects. There are two push buttons on the watch's right side, with the top one being a functional crown that makes navigation smooth. The bottom one offers quick access to multisports.

There are around 100 sports modes; therefore, they are good for all fitness enthusiasts. It also has a built-in compass, password protection and several other essential features. It also packs a sufficiently good IP68 rating for dust and water. Also, the speaker of the smartwatch is loud, making it easy to talk to someone using the device.  

Titan Maestro Review: Accuracy

The one thing I liked is that it offers satisfactory step counts. I compared step count and heart rate with the Samsung Galaxy Ultra watch (which is priced much higher than the Titan Maestro) and found it to be almost similar. However, the auto sport recognition was not precise.

Titan Maestro Review: Battery and charging

Titan Maestro Review: The smartwatch comes with a 350mAh battery and easily lasts a good 6 days with always-on-display and notifications like calls, hydration reminders and sedentary alerts turned on (not used for sleep tracking). It takes less than an hour to juice up the battery from 0 to 99 per cent. However, to fully charge it, the smartwatch will take around 90 minutes. The smartwatch comes with a two-pin magnetic charger.

Titan Maestro Review: Vertdict

If you are fond of sophisticated watches but also want all health and fitness tracking features, Titan Maestro is made for you. There is hardly any smartwatch superior to this when it comes to design. Also, it offers almost accurate step counts and provides good battery life.
