Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Review: Display

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display that supports FHD+ resolution. The screen operates smoothly with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is also bright enough for outdoor use, with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, ensuring clear visibility. The display gives vibrant and pleasant output. The multimedia experience gets further enhanced with the presence of stereo speakers, which produce clear and loud sound.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Review: Software and Performance

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The performance is fairly decent as it gets the majority of the job done under modest usage conditions. The device is a breeze when undertaking daily tasks like browsing social media or streaming Netflix. This smartphone seamlessly runs graphically-intensive games like Real Racing 3 and BGMI without any freeze or technical hiccups. It comes with OneUI 6.1, which runs on Android 14. Although, the device lacks the AI features, typically associated with the flagship S24 lineup, the software experience does its best to bridge the gap. The UI is clean and user-friendly. The device will get four years of major software updates and an additional year of security updates.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Review: Camera

Flaunting a triple camera setup on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro camera, the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G can be adjudged to have a satisfactory camera module. The primary sensor does give vibrant colours, but detailing tends to get a bit compromised, especially in low-light conditions. The ultra-wide camera gives modest outputs, but clarity appears to take the back seat. The selfie camera, a 50MP shooter, captures selfies with manageable facial tones, though there is a slight warm tint in the outputs.

The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which takes almost 50 minutes to get fully charged. It boasts a 45W wired charging capabilities. The battery comfortably lasts for more than a day under modest usage conditions. Not to be missed is the fact that extra bucks are to be paid for the charger as it is not included in the box.

Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Review: Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is a solid ‘value for money’ kind of a device. Boasting a Super AMOLED Plus display, the phone’s appeal gets bolstered by long-lasting battery life and satisfactory camera performance. It is worth noting, however, that it is not the snappiest device in this segment, and the charger is not included in the box, which can be a drawback. Nonetheless, for those seeking an elegant device with a simple design, this Samsung Galaxy M55 5G can be worth considering.
