Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro review: The South Korean tech giant Samsung is doing phenomenally well in TWS (True Wireless Stereo) segment. The brand recently launched the premium earbuds Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in India and globally to compete with Apple's AirPods Pro and AirPods 3 in the premium TWS segment. The latest premium earbuds from Samsung comes with 24bit hi-fi sound quality, enhanced 360 immersive audio and intelligent Audio Noise Cancelation (ANC).

Price at Rs 17,999, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro comes in two colour options - Graphite and Bora Purple. I tested the Bora purple variant for more than two weeks and here's what I have to say about the premium earbuds. In terms of design and outlook, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro earbuds are lighter, comfortable for your ears especially when we compare them with predecessors- Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Live. I have used all of them and this one is so far best in terms of comfortability factor, weight management and looks.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro design

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro can be easily used while wearing a helmet or performing any physical task, including gym, running, travelling and more. However, the charging case and the earbuds are prone to dust. But the good part is Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is easy-to-carry, and it has a beautiful in-ear design. The ergonomic design of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro comfortably fits any ear size. 15 per cent smaller in size, Galaxy buds 2 Pro fits securely even during dynamic movements. The increased airflow between the vent hole and nozzle grill decreases muffing sound and the 3-mic system under an aero dynamic design maximizes voice clarity during calls. Overall, the design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 2 is appealing, and right competition for Apple.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro performance

In terms of connectivity, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro can seamlessly connective with other Galaxy devices including Samsung televisions as well. With Auto Switch feature, you can effortlessly transition from watching your favourite show to answering a call, with just the touch of a finger. SmartThings Find integration helps you locate your Galaxy Buds 2 Pro faster, just in case you happen to misplace them, whether they are inside their cradle or not.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is compatible with both iOS and Android devices I used this device on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Apple iPhone 14, and on Samsung Galaxy Book 2 360 laptop. It was easy to connect. The best way to enjoy Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is to download the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app. Once opened, I was quickly able to control the ANC feature and switch between equalizers. With ANC mode on, you will experience premium audio quality.

Thanks to the ANC feature, my experience was great. While listening to music, especially songs like 'It Ain’t Me', 'Aarambh Hai Prachand', 'One Spring Nights' on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube, my experience was good. I also watched web series on these earbuds including House of Dragons, and the audio quality was decent. I can say that Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is one of the lightest hi-fi wireless earphones I have used.

With the new Samsung Seamless Codec (SSC), Galaxy Buds 2 Pro minimizes the perceptual sound loss and processes steady and high-quality sound. You can now listen to clearer and richer sound than ever before. Galaxy Buds 2 Pro also comes with immersive 360 Audio capability powered by Dolby Atmos. The company has also improved ‘Head Tracking Response’ in the new Buds 2 Pro and users will be able to feel the sound following their head movements. Three high SNR mics and increased wind shield area (almost twice) in Galaxy Buds 2 Pro filters out 40 per cent more unwanted noise, making an ‘already’ quiet environment quieter. While taking calls or watching movies for long hours and playing games, the audio performance was up to the mark.

​In terms of battery performance, on a full charge, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro earbuds offer around nine hours of power, and the handy charging case provides a further 16 hours to keep you going throughout the day. Also, a 10-minute quick charge can give users up to 60 minutes of playtime.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro offers next-level audio experience in the premium TWS segment in India. The latest earbuds from Samsung are competing with Sony WF-1000XM4 and Apple AirPods (3rd Generation) and offer good battery life and impressive sound performance.
