Doing away with the all-plastic build, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G has opted for a glass-backed body. The glass rear panel imparts a higher-end feel, however taking the weight to 209g and the thickness to 8.1mm. The plastic body does not give a substandard vibe at all; instead, it adds freshness to the entire build of the device. You will notice a bump to the right side which enhances the grip and lets you navigate easily to the buttons. In conformity with Samsung’s S24 lineup, this device also features flat sides with curved edges. The display comes with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and IP67 certification, ensuring dust and water resistance.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ super AMOLED display with refresh rate up to 120Hz. The multimedia experience on this device is seamless and top-notch, with sharp and vibrant outputs in both indoor and outdoor setups. The screen looks amazing with sumptuous colours and inky blacks. Despite those thick bezels, content consumption on this device is a treat as the screen delivers a crisp output. The multimedia experience is further enhanced with the presence of stereo speakers, offering loud and clear audio output.

Powered by an Exynos 1380 chip, an enhancement from A34’s Dimensity silicon, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is capable of undertaking tasks like gaming, content viewing and social media scrolling with ease. The base variant comes with 6GB RAM, which is suitable enough for modest users, primarily engaged in day-to-day tasks.

The device operates One UI 6.1, based on Android 14. The UI has a premium look and feel and shows no signs of technical stutters while navigating. It comes with better customisation options like system theming tied to the wallpaper itself. The brand has claimed to offer a four-year software update option, encompassing the Android version updates.

Samsung Galaxy A35 5G: Camera

One thing that can be adjudged as a noticeable improvement in the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is its camera prowess. Continuing with the same triple camera module reminiscent of Samsung, the entire setup is led by a 50MP primary sensor, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a 5MP macro unit. The main camera has a newer image sensor that lets you click flawless pictures, boasting an enhanced dynamic range. The details are pretty impressive in this price range.

When it comes to low-light performance, the output is amazing, maintaining sharpness and furnishing the colour accuracy. The other sensors, 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lenses, won’t disappoint you either. Despite the absence of a telephoto lens, the digital zoom feature garners okayish results up to 2x. Moreover, the 13MP selfie camera does a commendable job, offering good skin tone detection.

Featuring a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G lets you enjoy a backup for an entire day. In around 90 minutes, you can charge your device from 0-100 per cent. However, the brick is missing in the box, and you must procure a compatible charger separately.

Certainly, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is not a pushover when comparing it to its contemporaries in the segment. However, the UI experience is premium-ish, backed by a decent battery life. It feels handy and offers a brilliant multimedia experience. However, occasional stutters do occur, and the charging speed is modest too. To cut the story short, if you are not overly concerned about the heavy build and the thicker bezels, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G might appear an enticing option to ponder upon.
