Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Value for money if you can live without fast charging
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: The device runs on Samsung’s One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. The user interface is neat and clean and it has very few bloatware.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Samsung Galaxy A34 is a mid-range smartphone with many features and can be a good option for those looking for a device from a trusted brand. Though the South Korean tech major has tried to replicate the design of its latest flagship smartphone Galaxy S23, it lags when compared to smartphones present in the highly competitive segment. Check out more details in full review:
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Design
Samsung Galaxy A34 has a minimalistic design and looks very similar to the flagship smartphone Galaxy S23. While it has a curved frame, back edges feel a little sharp. It has a plastic body but feels premium and the lime colour is an absolute treat to look at.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Display
Samsung is offering a 6.6-inch super AMOLED display in this smartphone with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. The water-drop notch display has a peak brightness of 1000 nits and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Video content consumption on this device is good and stereo speakers enhance it by several notches. The display gets sufficiently bright when used outdoors but it may not offer the best experience when used under direct sunlight. The smartphone also offers a good gaming experience.
It comes with an in-display finger scanner that works well and lets you unlock your smartphone almost instantly.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Performance and software
Samsung has shunned its own Exynos chipset for MediaTek Dimensity 1080 for Galaxy A34. This makes the A34 feel fast and responsive in general use. You can run multiple apps simultaneously without any lag. Even more, you can also play heavy video games with ease.
The device runs on Samsung’s One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. The user interface is neat and clean and it has very few bloatware.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Battery and charging
The device has a 5,000mAh battery and gives a decent backup. The device supports 25W fast charging but you won't get the charging brick with the device. Even if you have it, the device will take a lot more time to juice up from zero to 100 per cent when compared to other smartphones in this price range.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Camera
Samsung Galaxy A34 has a triple camera setup at the back with a primary camera of 48MP and comes with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by 8MP ultrawide and 5MP macro camera. In daylight, it manages to click some good images that are worthy of sharing on social media platforms. However, the quality of images drops when taken in not-so-properly-lit conditions. For selfies, it has a 13MP camera and it does a decent job.
Samsung Galaxy A34 review: Verdict
For a starting price of Rs 30,999, Samsung Galaxy A34 manages to do all its job almost with perfection. IP67 rating, strong battery performance and trust in Samsung are some of the key USPs of this smartphone. However, the one thing that people would really miss is fast charging as most of the smartphones in this price range - or even lower - support far better fast charging than Galaxy A34. So if you are one of those who can compromise with fast charging, this is going to be your perfect companion.
