Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: For Samsung lovers, the South Korean electronics giant has launched its first smartphones of the year under its Galaxy A series - Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy A23 5G. Galaxy A14 5G can be one of the best options for loyal customers of the company in the sub-Rs 20,000 segments. It offers several good features, including a RAM Plus feature that allows users to add virtual RAM as per their requirements.
We received the Dark Red colour of the top variant of Galaxy A14 5G for review. Before talking about the smartphone in detail, let us tell you that Samsung Galaxy A14 5G is available in three RAM and storage versions and colours (Dark Red, Light Green and Black). While the base model of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs 16,499, the top model of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available at Rs 20,999. Its 6GB RAM + 128GB variant costs Rs 18,999. These prices are sans introductory offers and discounts available.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Design
The smartphone is big and the Dark Red colour (which in my opinion is burgundy or reddish-purple) looks great. I liked the laser pattern textured back cover of the device and the best part is that you can easily use it without the back cover as it won't attract fingerprints or smudges. As mentioned above, the phone is big and some people may find it difficult to use it with a single hand. There's a fingerprint sensor on the right-hand side and it is quite responsive. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Display and sound
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G comes with a 6.6inch LCD HD+ waterdrop notch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. While AMOLED display is something that has become a new normal for smartphones these days, Samsung Galaxy A14 5G has managed to provide a good combination of brightness and colours with the LCD display. There is one speaker at the bottom of the device and the sound is perfect for a smartphone available at this price. In a nutshell, media consumption is not going to be a disappointment.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Performance
Galaxy A14 5G is powered by Exynos 1330 Octa-core processor. In terms of performance, playing some light video games like Crazy Car Race won't be a problem.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Software
The device features the Android 13 operating system with One UI Core version - a downgraded version of the One UI. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G comes with four years of security updates and two OS upgrades. This means that it is a future-ready smartphone.
Also, it comes with a RAM Plus feature that allows users to add virtual RAM as per their requirements.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Battery and charger
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G comes with a strong 5000mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging. But the company does not provide any charger with the device. The only thing you get in the box is a Type-C to Type-C USB cable.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Camera
The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G comes with a triple camera setup. The linear camera housing looks good. The device has a 50MP primary camera, along with a 2MP depth and 2MP macro lens. It has a 13MP front camera for selfies.

The rear camera is capable of taking decent images in daylight conditions. However, macro and depth sensors don't have much to offer. The dynamic range of the images taken in good lighting conditions is good. The selfie camera too will not be a concern while taking images during the day. But don't expect too much from this phone when it comes to clicking pictures in low-light conditions. Video recording too follows the same trend.
Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review: Verdict
Galaxy A14 5G can be a good choice for those who want a Samsung smartphone capable of offering good performance without burning a hole in their pocket. While there are some other options available in the same price range with better features like an AMOLED display, good camera quality and also a charging brick, one may not mind missing out on these things for the trust and reliability that Samsung promises.
