The large circular camera island, resembling a polished sunburst dial, renders this device a premium and elegant feel. Balancing the sophistication is the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card slot. The phone feels light and handy, weighing 190 grams. The rounded edges make the device comfortable to hold, and even extended usage sessions are going to be fun with Realme 12+5G.

The outdoor experience is also going to be taken care of, thanks to 2000 nits of peak brightness. Not to be missed is the fact that this phone puts itself in a different league among other mid-rangers due to its standout colours- Pioneer Green and Navigator Blue. One more feature that would lure users is the Rainwater Smart Touch feature, enabling the device to detect water on the screen or hands, and employing an algorithm to prevent unexpected touch actions. The multimedia experience gets enhanced further, backed by the presence of stereo speakers, delivering loud and clear audio.

The Realme 12+ 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7050 supported by 8GB of RAM. Most of your day-to-day tasks are going to be performed with ease. Multitasking presents no issues, and performance is satisfactory. Mid-range games run smoothly with occasional minor lags. Frankly speaking, demanding games with the highest settings might not be as smooth with this device. Running on the latest Android 14 operating system, the UI is appealing, featuringRealme’s own UI 5.0 interface. Well, to address the elephant in the room, particularly within the realm ofRealme- yes, bloatware apps are there, and a cleaner UI is still being desired. 

Realme 12+ 5G Review: Camera

Sporting a triple camera module, the Realme12+5G features a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front side, a 16MP selfie camera rests in a punch-hole design. The camera quality is impressive, with images displaying accurate colours. The highlight in the entire setup is the main sensor, as it captures excellent sharp images, maintaining maximum resolution and furnishing good details. The low-light images also display considerable dynamic range, making one wonder whether this is a mid-range device. The other two sensors- the ultra-wide sensor and 2MP macro shooter, may not be the best-assisting sensors, but they, for sure, add versatility to the entire module, making it almost on par with premium contemporaries. To add to it, the 24mm wide field of view enables the selfie camera to deliver brilliant selfies.

The Realme 12+ 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, allowing you to use it throughout the entire day. The device also features a smart charging mode which “slows down battery ageing”, as claimed by the company. Supported by 67W charging, the device can be fully charged in 55 to 60 minutes. The best part is that you will get the charger bundled in the retail box.
