Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Infinix has made a name for itself by offering robust smartphones at affordable prices. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has now launched Infinix Hot 30 5G, which is available in two colours - Aurora Blue and Night Black - and two RAM and storage variants - 4GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB. The smartphone is priced at Rs 12,499 and Rs 13,499. Is it worth the price? Find out in our review.

The smartphone comes with a Type-C cable, an 18W adapter, a SIM card ejector and a transparent cover in the box. The smartphone has a glass finish at the back that looks premium. Also, the matte-finish rear panel makes it smudge- and fingerprint-resistant. The Infinix Hot 30 has used polycarbonate for the frame and rear panel. The device is thick and weighs over 215 grams as it comes with a 6,000mAh battery. It has a chrome frame that gives it a premium feel, but is also a fingerprint magnet. So, it is better to use covers while using the device. On the back, you have a camera module which houses dual cameras and quad-LED. The smartphone offers stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right is the power button, which also works as a fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is responsive and lets you access the device almost instantly. Also, the device has an IP53 rating for dust and water resistance and NFC (Near Field Communication) is also supported.

Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Display

Infinix Hot 30 5G has a 6.78-inch punch hole FHD + display that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is very tough to find a smartphone with such a high refresh rate in this price range. The display has got Widewine L1 certification, which essentially means that you can watch HD videos from OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. The display offers punchy colours and the viewing experience is enhanced further by dual speakers which provide a stereo effect and deliver balanced audio output.

The display has a peak brightness of 580 nits. While the smartphone can be used outdoors, it won't be comfortable to use under direct sunlight. However, this is where the Sunlight Reading Technology of the device comes in handy and helps in viewing the screen.

Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Performance and software

Infinix Hot 30 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor. The chip can handle day-to-day tasks with ease and even lets you multitask. But don't expect much from it when it comes to heavy usage or gaming. However, you can play some of the games in low graphic settings.

It boots on Android 13-based Infinix XOS 13. As expected, it comes loaded with bloatware and the company must address this. Multitasking is good in the initial stages. There is no problem in opening the apps either.

Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Camera

The phone has a dual rear camera setup with a primary sensor of 50 megapixels. The second one is an AI. For selfies, it has an 8MP front camera with a LED flash. The primary lens of Infinix Hot 30 clicks decent pictures in good lighting conditions. AI manages colours and details to a great extent. The 8-megapixel front camera too clicks decent images in well-lit conditions. However, the company needs to work on the capability of the smartphone to click decent low-light images. Even the LED flash on the front doesn't seem to make any significant changes.

Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Battery and charging

The phone has a 6000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging. The device can easily last for up to days with light usage. The smartphone also has power marathon technology which optimizes the battery even in heavy usage.  

Infinix Hot 30 5G Review: Verdict

Infinix Hot 30 5G does have some scope for improvement in terms of camera, fast charging and software. However, the smartphone comes with some 'high in demand' features - like 5G connectivity, a massive 6,000mAh battery and decent performance - which make it a capable contender in the sub-Rs 15,000 segment.
