Gigabyte G5 GE Review: An efficient, budget gaming laptop for new gamers!
Gaming is no more an alien concept around the world. Earlier, gaming was just limited to pro-gamers and didn't pique the interest of many. But in the last few years, this niche community has grown multifold. While many gamers prefer to have PC as a weapon, many new gamers prefer laptops due to the comfort and portability features. One such addition is Gigabyte's G5 with Intel 12th Gen processor.
Display and first look:
Gigabyte G5 is quite a simple-looking laptop with just enough feel of a gaming laptop. However, not going by just the looks, the laptop is quite a powerful piece of technology. Its big 15.6" screen gives the user more screen area for content consumption and an immersive gaming experience. Gaming and regular usage on the laptop seems smooth in terms of brightness but its anti-glare display won't let your eyes feel tired after a few hours of gaming.
The G5 also passed the dead pixel and backlight bleed test. When it comes to the backlit keyboard, it sure gives you a gaming 'vibe' with its colour changing feature. If we talk about portability, the G5 is 1.9kgs in weight and is not a hassle to carry.
Gaming and graphics:
Powered by 12th Gen Intel i5-12500 CPU, the G5's gaming experience is smooth even while playing heavy games for a longer duration. The colour performance during gaming is quite good as well along with a smooth 1080p gaming experience. The performance of the laptop was optimum and no lag was experienced during heavy-load games.
Gigabyte G5 CrossMark test:
Cooling and 'fan' moments:
With 59-blade dual fans, the cooling technology of Gigabyte G5 seems decent while playing heavy games such as League of Legends, Gun Grave Gore and Valorant. Although, if you're gaming without headphones you might hear a strong sound during the cooling process.
Battery:
For normal tasks, the battery remains stable. For gaming you may want to plug in the charger in between to have a seamless experience.
Price:
The starting price of the Gigabyte G5 is Rs 77,887. Considering the price range for gaming laptops, G5 is relatively affordable and yet there is no performance issue with the laptop. If you're a newbie, this could give you a great headstart.
