You can try the OnePlus 8 before its launched in India; here is how to get hold of it

OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 8 series by April-end or whenever the coronavirus situation improves. And, you could be one of the few to get your hands on the smartphone before its launch! OnePlus has announced that it is bringing back ‘The Lab' programme ahead of its OnePlus 8 series launch. 

As part of the programme, the smartphone maker will give the upcoming smartphone to 10 users who will then have to provide their “solid and unbiased” review. The company has announced this on its official forum, stating that the phone will be shipped to 10 users before the launch. This will be done to seek honest reviews about the  product.

The OnePlus 8 series is likely to be launched on April 15. Reports suggest that the series could have three smartphones. However, OnePlus has not confirmed which one will be handed over for reviews. 

How to get OnePlus 8 before launch?

Tech enthusiasts who have thorough knowledge and passion for smartphones can send their applications through company’s official forum. This application will be reviewed by the community and the 10 reviewers will be announced on April 2. OnePlus will send the new smartphone to these people and their reviews will go out on the launch date. After evaluation, the final winner will be announced.

Getting the phone won’t be easy though. Out of 10, six spots are reserved for users who created an account before the ‘The Lab'. The applications are open now and will close at 5pm HKT (2:30pm IST), April 1.

How will winners be selected?

OnePlus will select these 10 reviewers based on creativity, writing, photography, and videography skills. To ensure diversity in the reviews, it will consider demographic information as well. Moderators will be assessing the candidates.
