Xiaomi is set to unveil its Mi 9T series - speculated to be a global branding of the Redmi K20 series launched in China earlier - on Wednesday. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is hosting events in Madrid, Milan and Paris to launch the new series which is expected to have two smartphones: the Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro. The phones have been teased by the Xiaomi Global Twitter handle regularly. The teasers suggest that the Mi 9T will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, pop-up selfie camera and bring back the 3.5mm audio jack. The phones are also confirmed to sport a 48-megapixel sensor, a Snapdragon processor, and a 4,000mAh battery.

In China, the Redmi K20 or Mi 9T was launched in three variants - 6GB + 64GB variant priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 20,200), 6GB + 128GB priced at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 21,200) and 8GB + 256GB variant which would cost CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs 26,200) respectively. The Pro model was launched a starting price of CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs 25,200) for the 6GB + 64GB variant. The 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants will retail at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs 26,200), CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs 28,200), and CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 30,200), respectively.
The global price of both the smartphones will be announced at today's launch event. Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain has already confirmed that the series will arrive in the country around mid-July.
Xiaomi Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro Expected features
The Mi 9T Pro is expected to run Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with MIUI on top and is likely to sport a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass protection. It should be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone should also offer a 8GB variant to customers. It is likely to come with a triple rear camera setup led by a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The phone will also house a 20-megapixel selfie camera and will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support.
The Mi 9T too runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. It sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC. This model also gets a triple rear camera setup and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging.
