Xiaomi is all set to extend its Mi series with a new addition. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer tweeted on Monday that the recently teased Mi 9T will be launched on June 12. However, the company has not revealed whether the smartphone will be launched during an event in China or will it just be an online launch. Earlier it was reported that Mi 9T might be the rebranded variant of Redmi K20 for the international markets but it seems that isn't the case. The June 12 launch was confirmed by Xiaomi through a tweet.
"Only 10 days left! The new #Mi9 member will launch on June 12th! Are you ready for more innovation for everyone from #Mi9T" the smartphone manufacturer said in a tweet. The features, specifications and price of the Mi9 will be revealed at the launch only.

But, the teasers suggest that the smartphone might come with a pop-up selfie camera. Also, an image of the phone's back shared by Xiaomi hints at a triple rear camera module with an LED flash. Interestingly, there is no fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone which means that Mi9T might comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The smartphone is expected to be an improved version of Mi 9 which will drop the waterdrop-style notch for a pop-up selfie camera and a few more features. The smartphone is expected to come with Snapdragon 730 SoC, 4000mAh battery, 6.39-inch full-HD+ screen, and 48-megapixel primary camera.
Even though there is no word on when the phone will arrive in India, the Mi series is highly loved in the country and this might tempt Xiaomi to introduce Mi 9T as early as possible. For now, the smartphone manufacturer is busy with the launch of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Xiaomi India boss Manu Kumar Jain has confirmed that both smartphones will be coming to India within the next six weeks.
