Xiaomi 15 Series Launched: Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone series - Xiaomi 15 Series. There are two smartphones under this series and they are the first in the world to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

There are several variants of the Xiaomi 15 Series with the base model having 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. This is priced at Rs CNY4,499 i.e. approximately Rs 52,994.

The 16GB+512GB variant offers 40 colour shades and can be a good option for those users who love customisation. This variant is priced at CNY 4,999 (around Rs 58,884).

The higher variant i.e. Xiaomi 15 Pro starts is available at CNY 5,299 (approximately Rs 62,404) for the same 12GB + 256GB configuration.

Xiaomi 15 Series Global Launch Soon

Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has announced that the Xiaomi 15 series will be launched globally soon. It is expected by late 2024 or early 2025.

"What’s more, I’m thrilled to announce that we’re bringing the Xiaomi 15 Series to global markets soon. This new series represents our next frontier, pushing the boundaries of innovation and design. Can’t wait to share it with you all," he posted on X.

Xiaomi 15 Series Availability

The devices will be available for purchase in China starting October 31, 2024. These smartphones will be available in several colour variants including black, white, green, lilac, and silver for the Xiaomi 15, along with a limited diamond edition.

Xiaomi 15 comes with a 6.36-inch 1.5K display and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with a larger 6.73-inch 2K micro-curved OLED display and offers the same refresh rate as the Xiaomi 15. Both these smartphones offer a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. 

In terms of camera, the Xiaomi 15 has a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP LightHunter 900 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. On the front, it has a 32MP camera for selfies. 

While the primary sensor is the same as the Xiaomi 15 Pro but has a better 50MP ultra-wide camera from Samsung and a 50MP Sony IMX858 periscope lens. 

Both these smartphones now come with better battery capacity. While Xiaomi 15 comes with a 5,400mAh battery, the Xiaomi 15 Pro has a larger 6,100mAh battery. They support 90W and 50W wireless charging respectively.
