WhatsApp user? Know how to save status videos and photos on smartphone

WhatsApp had launched a 24-hour disappearing status feature on its platform in 2017. The company rolled out an update for its new disappearing status feature, which replaced the old text based status allowing users to share videos, images and GIFs with contacts. 

Users took to it with both hands and it has become one of the most popular features on WhatsApp, as there are 500 million people across the globe who share WhatsApp Statuses everyday that vanishes in 24 hours.

But what if you want to save WhatsApp statuses for the future in your smartphone. Here's a trick to do that. 

Only for Android users:

Step 1: Download Google Files app on your phone from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Launch the app and tap on the hamburger icon showing on the left corner.

Step 3: Now tap on 'Settings' option to proceed.

Step 4: After that toggle the button to show hidden files there.

Step 5: Now go back to the main app and tap on the Internal Storage option.

Step 6: Scroll down and tap on WhatsApp option.

Step 7: In the following window, tap on Media option.

Step 8: Next tap on 'Statuses' option.

Step 9: Now you will see all the status updates by your friends.

Step 10: Tap on the downward arrow on the right side of the Status you want to save and tap on Copy To option in the pull-down menu bar.

Step 11: Now the app will show you locations, such as your phone's internal memory, where you can save the selected WhatsApp Status.

Step 12: Tap on the place where you want to save the Status.

Step 13: The following window will show you the exact location, like DCIM, where you can save the Status. Tap on DCIM or any other option.

Step 14: Now tap on Copy and your status is saved on hone

In this way, you can save your contacts statuses on your smartphone, but one should have a consent of them befor saving.
