WhatsApp update: Facebook-owned app to get new features; check details
Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is ready with its new feature for group chat. The company is reportedly working on a number of features including 'private reply' in a group chat. The new feature will allow users to message a group member privately.
The company is also working on 3D Touch feature to preview the message in chats list and might even bring new option to add stickers while editing video or image on WhatsApp. However, these features will only be introduced on iOS platform.
How to use Private Reply feature?
To use this feature, the users need to tap on a message when it appears on WhatsApp group. An option to 'private reply' will pop up on the screen. The user can then send the message and continue to communicate with the concerned person.
The message will not be visible to other members of the group.
How to use 3D Touch feature?
The other exciting feature coming to WhatsApp is the 3D Touch feature. To use it, the users need to long press a chat. This will preview the message and the status. It is not clear if the messaging platform is working on a similar feature for Android or not.
Apart from these, WhatsApp is also testing a new security feature to secure chats. This new feature will allow users to lock their chats using fingerprint password. The feature was first reported by WaBetaInfo website which consistently shares unreleased updates for the Facebook-owned app by scanning the code for new features.
