As far as Android users go, you need to tap the ‘smiley’ button beside the chatbox where the usual ‘type a message’ is visible. It will open the more frequently used smileys and you will see a GIF option at the bottom. It will automatically show you several existing GIFs as you scroll.
From here, you can choose the GIFs that popped up and surf until you find one or you can search for a particular GIF. Tap on the GIF you want to send, a preview of the same will appear. You can either send or choose another GIF.
