WhatsApp to stop working on these iPhones: Reports suggest that WhatsApp has upgraded its minimum system requirements, which will impact WhatsApp functionality on 35 older smartphone models. Considering the new minimum system necessities, phones that still run on older Android versions than 5.0 and older iOS versions than 12 will not be able to receive security and other updates.

It means that any smartphone running on operating systems older than these will not get security updates and will be susceptible to security risks. Users who have older smartphone models will need to upgrade their phones to be able to access new features and security updates of WhatsApp. 

As per the report, older devices from brands like Samsung, Apple, Sony, Huawei, and Motorola will be affected by the new minimum system requirements of the popular messaging app. This move will improve the performance and security of the messaging application, at the same time will require users to upgrade their handsets to be able to use WhatsApp services.

Samsung customers who have phones such as the Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S4 Mini might need to opt for other alternatives. People with phones like Motorola’s Moto G and Moto X will also be affected by WhatsApp’s move. Apple users having older iPhones like the iPhone 6 and iPhone SE will no longer receive WhatsApp support. Huawei, Lenovo, Sony, and LG users having older smartphone models will also be affected.
