WhatsApp to roll out new feature that allows you to hide muted status updates: How it works

We are set to get a new feature from instant messaging platform WhatsApp that will make your experience even more seamless. WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that allows you to hide muted status updates in the latest Android beta version. The feature was first reported a few months ago. Back then, it was still under development and has now been enabled for testing. The new feature will allow users to completely all signs of muted updates from the WhatsApp Status section. As of now, you get the muted status updates at the end of the scroll.

Called the Hide Muted Status Updates, the feature has been spotted by WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp latest beta version 2.19.260. The blog said that "WhatsApp is starting to roll out the possibility to hide muted status updates". However, it is still unclear when the new feature will be available for all users. In case you want to use it already, you can enroll for WhatsApp Google Play beta programme or download the latest version via APK Mirror.

How the new feature works?

When the Hide Muted Status Updates feature is enabled, it automatically hides all the Muted Updates. Currently, on the Muted Updates tab, a down arrow is visible. By pressing this, you can see all the Muted updates. Another tap on the same arrow, hides all the Muted Updates.

Share WhatsApp Status on Facebook Story

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has recently allowed its users to share their status to Facebook. The feature comes with the latest stable release of the messaging service and can also be used for sending statuses to other platforms, including Instagram, Gmail, and Google Photos. Now, the users get a new 'Share to Facebook Story' button in the status tab. If you opt for it, the Status is directly posted as the Facebook Story.
