WhatsApp to introduce new Authentication feature but you wont be able to take screenshots
The Facebook-owned company is guessed to be working on its biometric authentication option, which was first spotted by WABetaInfo. Once enabled, it is likely to allow users to lock the messaging app using the fingerprint sensor of their smartphones.
Instant messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced host of new features to make the app more friendly and functional for its users. Currently, it has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.19.106, but what features has WhatsApp added in this update? All these questions have been answered by WABetaInfo. According to WABetaInfo, which keeps a tab on upcoming features of WhatsApp, the new UI and improvements for the WhatsApp doodle are finally available, and to receive activation from the server, you need to update to the 2.19.106 beta version. Talking about this feature, WABetaInfo said, "When the Authentication feature will be enabled, your fingerprint is obviously required to open WhatsApp, but conversation screenshots are blocked. It means you won’t be longer able to screenshot your chats if you enable that feature."
Notably, WhatsApp is also working on improving the user interface for its Doodle feature, and this included addition of a search option and categorising into ‘Stickers’ and ‘Emoji’.
Earlier on April 10, WABetaInfo had said that WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.19.101. Under this new feature, users can find Archived Chats in the main menu, and this change is enabled by default, said WABetaInfo, adding "you can notice it immediately updating to the 2.19.101 beta update."
