WhatsApp Text Formatting Shortcuts, WhatsApp Text Tricks Styles: Popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced four new text formatting options. The Meta-owned platform said that these formats are in addition to already available formatting options. So far, WhatsApp users had the option of using  Bold, Italic, Strikethrough, and Monospace formatting.

"Adding four new text formatting options to help people organize and craft their messages on WhatsApp. These help save time and help people communicate more effectively via their messages, especially in group chats," Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO at Meta, said.

Here are four new WhatsApp Text Formatting options:

Bulleted Lists - To outline steps in a process, list ingredients in a recipe or call out the main points of a message.

Numbered Lists - To note a specific order of things such as instructions or a recap of events. 

Block Quote - To highlight key text and make it more noticeable in messages.

Inline Code - To help distinguish specific information within a sentence. 

WhatsApp Text Formatting Shortcuts: How to use?

Bulleted Lists - Type the '-' symbol, followed by a space.

Numbered Lists - Type 1 or 2 digits followed by a period and one space. 

Block Quote - Type the '>' symbol followed by a space.

Inline Code - Users can wrap text with '`' symbol - for example, `message`.

These new formatting options on WhatsApp are available to all users on Android, iOS, Web, and Mac desktop platforms. 

Earlier, WhatsApp let users create, edit and share their stickers on WhatsApp when using iOS, without having to leave the app.  

One can create stickers without having to drag-and-drop from image gallery or use unofficial third-party apps, all while benefiting from the security of WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption.
