WhatsApp Status Update: WhatsApp has been announcing a lot of new features of late. The Meta-owned is now reportedly working on a feature that will let users share their WhatsApp status to Facebook stories without leaving the app.

Users were earlier allowed to share status updates to Facebook stories, but they had to go through the extra step. For this, they have to manually share the update each time they post something new, according to WABetaInfo. Currently, This feature is available with the photo-sharing app Instagram. The status posted by users on Instagram can also be shared on Facebook.
 
The new feature, which is reportedly under the development phase, will make the process automatic for certain status updates when the option is enabled.

To enable this, users will get a new option on the settings options. According to the report, WhatsApp's Status Privacy setting will get a new option "share my status updates across my accounts". Here, users will be able to add their Facebook accounts, said the report.

The report further added that this feature will be optional and users can activate it at any time. It will be disabled by default.

Furthermore, the report stated this feature will allow users to save time and effort when they manually share their status updates with Facebook Stories without leaving WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the instant messaging app is reportedly also working on a new feature called "audio chats". This feature will be available within conversations in a future update of the application on Android.

A new waveforms icon will be added to the chat header, allowing users to initiate audio chats, plus users will see a red button for ending ongoing calls.
