WhatsApp New Feature Update: Context card for group messaging to safeguard users - Heres how
WhatsApp New Feature Update: Building on existing features like silencing unknown callers, chat lock, in-app privacy check-up, and controlling who can add you to groups, this update offers users more control when added to groups by unknown contacts.
WhatsApp New Feature Update: A new update for WhatsApp users will add another layer of safety and security where a context card will give you all the information about that group.
This builds on existing features like silencing unknown callers, chat locks, in-app privacy check-ups, and controlling who can add you to groups
This new feature will help users stay safe in group messaging. If you’re added to a group by someone you don’t know, the context card feature will give you all the information about that group.
The details will include:
1) Who added you
2) How recent the group was created
3) Who created the group
It is up to the user to decide whether to stay or leave the group and review some of the safety tools available to stay safe and secure on WhatsApp.
This is particularly helpful to confirm whether or not it’s a group you want to be in or if you just met someone and haven’t saved them in your contacts yet.
It’s also similar to the current experience in one-to-one messaging, where you’re given more context if you’re messaged by someone you don’t know.
The feature is rolling out and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
