WhatsApp is busy! This Facebook-owned app is on a features rolling-out spree. And, it brings great news for people who use this messaging platform. Over the last few weeks, WhatsApp has rolled out several new features for both Android as well as iPhone users. Several other features have been spotted in the beta version of the app and will soon be rolled out for public use. Some of these new features have been spotted for iPhone users. The latest update of WhatsApp for the Apple iPhone adds a bunch of new features.
WhatsApp is now on version 2.19.100 for the iPhone. The new version is available for download on the App Store. The app will now allow users to edit and send back media in the chats. For this, the users need to tap the doodle icon when viewing an image or video to access the editing tools. Another new feature added by WhatsApp allows you to play voice messages directly from the notification prompts. To get this running, you need to long press on the notification that indicates a new incoming voice message, and then tap on play.
With the new version of the app, WhatsApp has also introduced Memoji to be sent as stickers within chats with friends and family, directly from the emoji keyboard in iOS 13. It said that users can also change font styles in the camera by tapping the “T” icon.
Dark Theme for Android
According to app tracker WABetaInfo, the instant messaging platform could soon roll out the feature for all users soon. However, it did not mention the exact date for the roll out. The feature was recently spotted in WhatsApp's new 2.19.282 beta version which will introduce a new section called Theme Settings. The new section is buried under Settings and will allow users to change the WhatsApp theme to different modes.
The normal theme which has been used by WhatsApp users ever since the app was first launched, has been named Light theme. The other themes to be introduced are - “System default" and "Dark Theme". System Default automatically recognises the theme of Android that has been set by the user and changes accordingly. Meanwhile, the Dark Theme is claimed to invert colours.
